The first to dominate both championships: Brond of Citroën achieves a double title victory!
Test Season 8 Overview

The Test Season 8 Manufacturer Series was held across 10 rounds starting Sunday, December 24, 2017, to Saturday, January 6, 2018. The total score of 4 best results out of the 10 races determined the victor.

In the opening round on December 24 was a race of Group 4 machines on Interlagos. Here, top players gathered in the 2nd race of the day, driving up the scores for the race. JUN-_-JEEEEN of Dodge, saika159- of Aston Martin, and Dauble-Weapon of Toyota placed high on the season standings. In Round 2, (Gr.3/Alsace Village) , Brond of Citroën who did not fair too well in the first race at 5th place makes a comeback victory, surpassing JUN-_-JEEEEN to the top of the ranks.

Brond of Citroën and JUN-_-JEEEEN of Dodge are neck to neck, swapping ranking positions in Rounds 3 (Gr. 3 / Dragon Trail Seaside), and 4 (Gr. 4 / Lake Maggiore Circuit GP). However JUN-_-JEEEEN missed all races after Round 5, and this great rivalry unfortunately ended mid-season.

Nik_Makozi of Mercedes-Benz and s-shohei_ of Honda were next in line in the fight for the crown. At the end of Round 7, Brond of Citroën was at 7774 points, Nik_Makozi of Mercedes-Benz was at 7251 points, and s-shohei_ of Honda stood at 7241 points, each well within reach of the throne. And in Round 8, Audi’s L-shooter_RB26 who ran in Rounds 4, 5, 7, and 8 now had 4 races that would be counted for the season, immediately rising to 2nd place in the rankings.

The final round on January 6 was a Gr.3 race on the new Yamagiwa + Miyabi layout of the Kyoto Driving Park. The Top 24 Superstars race matched together Brond of Citroën, Nik_Makozi of Mercedes-Benz, s-shohei_ of Honda, joined by kazunokota of Audi and s-o16com of Porsche. L-shooter_RB26 of Audi who had a chance for a season win had skipped Round 9 and this race as well, dropping the Audi driver out of the top level competition.

In the race final, Brond of Citroën, kazunokota of Audi and s-o16com of Porsche who placed first, second, and third in qualifying went head to head, going all the way through the race without changing their qualifying positions. They scored 10687, 10309, and 9931 points respectively. In 4th was legacy0193 of Citroën who rose from 7th in qualifying, and in 5th was saika159- of Aston Martin.

The overall winner of Test Season 8 was Brond and Citroën. Together with the Nations Cup Victory, this was the first double title achievement by a driver in a single season. Entering all races in both the Manufacturer Series and the Nations Cup, Brond showed a level of tenacity and fighting spirit which that worked perfectly with incredible skill for this major achievement. Congratulations to Brond! In 2nd place was kazunokota of Audi who jumped ahead in Rounds 9 and 10, marking his name as a new top ranker in the series. In third was legacy0193, also with Citroën.
