AMERICAS FINAL
Rubilar (FT_NicoR) Self-Destructs! Fraga (IOF_RACING17) Wins Race 2 Without Breaking a Sweat!
Nations Cup: Americas Final
11/05/2018

The starting grid for Race 2 was as follows: Chile's Fabián Portilla (FT_Mcqueen91) in an AMG GT3, the USA's Andrew McCabe (TRL_doodle) in an RC F GT3, Chile's Nicolás Rubilar (FT_NicoR) in a Viper GT3-R, and Brazil's Igor Fraga (IOF_RACING17) in a Viper GT3-R.
Rubilar (FT_NicoR) and Fraga (IOF_RACING17) had been the pre-tournament favorites, but with their poor showings in the first race, everything was now up for grabs.

Rubilar (FT_NicoR), the only driver to start the race on soft-compound tires, had a great start. He made the most of his sticky tires, as he weaved his way through the tight curves of the Mount Panorama Circuit with ease, quickly moving up to 2nd place. By the time he got to the back straight, he was right behind Portilla (FT_Mcqueen91), until ultimately making the pass to take the lead.

On Lap 3, Fraga (IOF_RACING17) took advantage of Portilla (FT_Mcqueen91) getting a bit loose through a corner and dove past him to move into 2nd place.

By Lap 3, Rubilar's (FT_NicoR) tires were worn, forcing him into the pits. This would prove to be a disastrous move, as he spun out going into the pits. This surprised everyone in the Las Vegas arena, as Rubilar is known to be one of the most disciplined drivers in the series. This completely took Rubilar (FT_NicoR) out of contention.

Fraga (IOF_RACING17) saw his opportunity and he pounced on it. When the Rubilar (FT_NicoR) mishap occured, he was running a strong 2nd in front of Portilla (FT_Mcqueen91).

Despite finishing Race 1 in 4th place, and starting Race 2 in 4th place, Fraga (IOF_RACING17) stuck to his race strategy and was rewarded for doing so. After taking the lead on the third lap, he cruised to the finish line, leaving everyone in the dust.
