4.2022 CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2022 Championships will comprise of the following four events:
- 1Online Series
- 2World Series
- 3World Series Showdown
- 4World Finals
1Online Series (GT1 League - GT3 League)
These races will make up the core of the championships.
Anyone can participate in the Online Series from within the 'Sport' mode of Gran Turismo 7.
Leagues
The Online Series will be organised in a League format, and players will be assigned to the following Leagues based on their Driver Ratings.
League | Driver Rating |
---|---|
GT1 |
A or above |
GT2 |
B and C |
GT3 |
D or below |
A player's League will be determined by their current Driver Rating at the time of entering their first Round of the Season (defined below.)
Once a driver's League has been determined, even if their Driver Rating changes during the Season their League will stay the same.
The competitors for the World Series and World Finals will be selected only from the GT1 League, based on their performance.
Nations Cup Online Series
The Online Series for the Nations Cup will be running from May to October.
This series will consist of 14 Rounds in total, each with a Qualifying and a Final race.
The first 6 Rounds taking place from May to July will be designated 'Season 1,' and the 8 Rounds from August to October will be designated 'Season 2.'
By participating in an online race, competitors will be awarded points based on their performance. These points will determine the competitors' positions in the rankings, which will be updated at the end of every Round.
The driver selections for the World Series and World Finals will be made based on the results of the rankings in the GT1 League at the end of each Season.
The overall ranking is based on an effective points system: at the end of each Season, the final score will be tallied from the best 1/2 Rounds out of the total for that Season (with half numbers rounded up.)
- For example:
- After 6 Rounds the points from the 3 best Rounds will be tallied for the final score.
- After 8 Rounds the points from the 4 best Rounds will be tallied for the final score. - Points at the end of Season 1 will not be carried over into Season 2.

Global Manufacturer Rankings
The Global Manufacturer Rankings of the GT1 League is used to determine the manufacturers that will be entering the World Series and the World Finals.
The Global Manufacturer Rankings are determined at the end of each Season.
The ranking is based on an effective points system: at the end of each Season, the final score will be tallied from the best 1/2 Rounds out of the total for that Season (with half numbers rounded up).
- For example:
- After 6 Rounds the points from the 3 best Rounds will be tallied for the final score.
- After 8 Rounds the points from the 4 best Rounds will be tallied for the final score. - Points at the end of Season 1 will not be carried over into Season 2.
The Global Manufacturer Rankings will be created as described below.
- 1) A 'Manufacturer Ranking' will be created for each Region:
- - At the end of each Round, the position of a manufacturer in the 'Manufacturer Ranking' will be determined by the points acquired by its affiliated top driver (the driver who holds the highest score for that manufacturer in that Round).
- - At the end of each Round, 'Manufacturer Ranking Points' will be assigned to each of the 26 manufacturers based on their position in the above-mentioned 'Manufacturer Ranking', as follows:

- If two or more of the top ranking drivers from different manufacturers are tied on individual points, then the Manufacturer Ranking Points assigned to their respective manufacturers will be divided and assigned equally.
- For example: Player A (Toyota) and Player B (Mercedes-Benz) both have an individual score of 230 points. If both manufacturers are tied for 3rd in their Region, the points awarded for 3rd and 4th place will be added together with each team receiving half of the total (33+30=63/2=31.5 pts.)
- 2) A 'Global Manufacturer Ranking' will be created:
- - For each manufacturer, Manufacturer Ranking Points from all three Regions will be tallied to determine their 'Global Manufacturer Ranking'.
- If two or more manufacturers have an equal number of points in the 'Global Manufacturer Ranking', the selection will be determined following these criteria:
- a) the manufacturer with the highest Manufacturer Ranking Points across all three Regions and all Rounds; and
- b) if still tied, the manufacturer with the highest individual points of their top ranking drivers from all three Regions; and
