Lincolnshire Police Confirms Gran Turismo Sport to Improve Their Driving Skills
Lincolnshire Police in Eastern UK used Gran Turismo Sport for their driver’s training, and confirmed positive results.
The training was performed on the Silverstone circuit, with 4 officers from the Lincolnshire police. First, they ran the circuit and their lap times were recorded. Afterwards, under the guidance of GT Academy instructors, they undertook time trials on Gran Turismo Sport. Finally, they took to the track once more and the new lap times were recorded again. All 4 officers not only showed improved lap times, they also showed smoother, more stable driving. The results showed once again that training in Gran Turismo actually applies to real life driving.
The assistant chief constable of the Lincolnshire police commented:
“There will never be a replacement for traditional training methods but we are always looking for innovative ways to supplement the learning of our officers and staff. If Gran Turismo can help to train world class racing drivers, then we were keen to explore whether it could offer anything to our officers and help expand the way we think about evolving and refreshing our training methods."
