'Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision GT' Unveiled at the 'World Finals 2019 - Monaco'
On 24 November, Lamborghini unveiled their ‘Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo’ along with a full-scale model at the 'FIA Gran Turismo Championships' World Finals 2019 held in Monaco.
This visionary design was produced by Lamborghini Centro Stile in Sant’Agata, Italy. A single-seater sports car that embodies the pure joy of driving, it is powered by the same V12 hybrid engine as the Sian FKP37 unveiled in September this year.
The design is based on Lamborghini’s historic DNA but it expresses its philosophy with futuristic construction methods. While the design maintains the typical single centre line silhouette that Lamborghini is known for, the context of Gran Turismo precludes any need for passenger seats leading to a shape which emphasises its single seat.
In addition, this concept’s fierce exterior stylings incorporate superb aerodynamic abilities. In particular, the rear of the car is accentuated by a large wing. The main body of the car is separated from the fenders and features hexagonal side windows inspired by the 1968 Marzal concept. Also, the front and rear of the car both feature unique Y-shaped lights.
Of course, a visionary concept also needs a fitting interior. The driver enters the cabin from the front similarly to a jet fighter pilot. All of the main controls for driving have been placed on the futuristic steering wheel, and all information is virtually projected in the driver’s line of sight.
Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.
“Lamborghini is a very young brand, and this is why we are here today to present our newest virtual vision in the form of a real model, with a highly futuristic and cool design to be enjoyed by the young generation of racing game and super sports car enthusiasts.”
Mitja Borkert, Head of Lamborghini Centro Stile
“The Lambo V12 Vision GT is created to provide the ultimate virtual car for young fans and gamers, who are ultra-enthusiastic about Lamborghini and its futuristic aspirations. It is an opportunity for the design talent within Lamborghini to stretch its wings and visualise a car that, like every Lamborghini, is a head-turner and the best driving experience, but also mirrors Lamborghini's push on future technologies, particularly in the arena of lightweight materials and hybridisation.”
