LANDSHUT, Germany (9 February 2024) - Developed alongside Polyphony Digital, Fanatec is launching the 'Gran Turismo DD® Extreme,' the latest official Direct Drive steering controller. This is the most powerful official Direct Drive system for Gran Turismo, combining an advanced steering wheel together with the new 15Nm ClubSport DD+ wheel base, to deliver consistent performance and incredibly realistic force feedback within Gran Turismo 7.

The official 'Gran Turismo® DD Extreme' steering wheel features a fully round design. The 300mm diameter steering wheel is perfect for driving all types of cars and the premium vegan leather rim provides a realistic look and feel.

Gran Turismo specific inputs are covered with four 5-way directional sticks. Additionally, RGB FlagLEDs, diffused RevLED strip, RGB LED rings, and a 2.7" OLED display provide a range of visual driving supports for players.

Designed from the ground-up for the latest generation QR2 quick release, the steering wheel transmits the finest details from the Direct Drive motor and Fanatec’s FullForce technology to the driver’s hands.

The heart of the Gran Turismo DD® Extreme is the new ClubSport DD+ wheel base. This cutting-edge 15 Nm Direct Drive force feedback device was designed from the ground-up for the most demanding sim racers.

The ClubSport DD+ servo motor and its advanced electronics have allowed Fanatec to fine-tune its behaviour with incredible accuracy. The wheel feels lively in the driver’s hands, communicating the smallest details, while staying remarkably stable and resisting unwanted oscillation.

The ClubSport DD+ is passively cooled and engineered to strict requirements, making it the most thermally stable wheel base in its class, delivering consistent, unwavering performance across even the longest and most gruelling races.

Class-leading slew rate performance combined with the powerful processor makes every motor reaction incredibly fast and dynamic. This benefits traditional force feedback signals as well as enhanced FullForce signals (in supported games). FullForce support will be added to Gran Turismo 7 in a future update.

FullForce technology is a new force feedback protocol tailored specifically and exclusively for Fanatec Direct Drive and the ultra-tight mechanical connection of the QR2 quick release. FullForce leverages the instantaneous response and zero backlash of Direct Drive technology, delivering high-frequency vibrations and a new level of immersion.

The Gran Turismo DD® Extreme package supports all modern Fanatec pedals and accessories such as shifters and handbrakes (all sold separately.)
