World Series Showdown 2023 Amsterdam

The ‘Gran Turismo World Series’ comes to Amsterdam for the first time in August for the World Series Showdown 2023. Some of the world’s finest racers have qualified online through Gran Turismo™ 7 on PlayStation®4 system or PlayStation®5 console and will compete in-person at the live event.
The Manufacturers Cup action takes place on Friday, 11 August. On Saturday, 12 August 12 teams, including the Netherlands and Belgium, will compete for Nations Cup glory.

The World Series Showdown 2023 event will host a number of exciting activities:
Thursday, 10 August – ‘Gran Turismo’ movie screening at the Pathé Tuschinski Theater, followed by a Q&A session with Kazunori Yamauchi
The ‘Gran Turismo’ movie, starring rising star Archie Madekwe, David Harbour, and Orlando Bloom, tells the real-life story of young British Gran Turismo gamer Jann Mardenborough. Jann became the European champion of the GT Academy competition and went on to race professionally for Nissan in numerous championships, including the famous Le Mans 24 Hours race.
After this screening, the audience will have the opportunity to hear from Kazunori Yamauchi, creator of the Gran Turismo series, about the story behind the GT Academy and the Gran Turismo World Series.
Friday, 11 August – Manufacturers Cup at Theater Amsterdam (Danzigerkade 5, Amsterdam)
This is a team competition in which the top 12 car makers, including official partners Toyota, Genesis, and Mazda, will be represented by three drivers each. A qualifying session will be followed by a Grand Final with each driver having to race at least one stint.
Saturday, 12 August – Nations Cup at Theater Amsterdam (Danzigerkade 5, Amsterdam)
In 2023, the Nations Cup will also be a team competition. The 12 top-ranked drivers from the Nations Cup Online Series 2023 will lead teams of three from their respective country or territory. Again, a qualifying session will sort the grid order before the Grand Final with all three drivers of each team taking the wheel. Both the Netherlands and Belgium will be represented and battling against teams from Spain, France, Italy, USA, Canada, Brazil, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, and New Zealand.
