Belgium's ERM_Quinten Comes Out on Top in a Hotly Contested Opening Season in the EMEA Region!

Season 1 of the Gran Turismo World Series Nations Cup 2022 Series got underway on the 28th of May. The event would take place in Gran Turismo 7's Sport mode for the first time, and would therefore be a test of how quickly the drivers could adapt to a new environment.

The Season's first race took place at the Suzuka Circuit. It was a chaotic race, with many top-ranked drivers failing to score any points. Italy's TDG_MARKUS managed to rise above it all, however, and claim the victory.

Round 2 took place at the Autopolis International Racing Course, a technical circuit in Japan, and it proved to be an opportunity for Belgium's ERM_Quinten to show just how fast he can be. Having failed to score any points in the opening round, ERM_Quinten really needed to deliver here, and deliver he did with an impressive victory that brought him 449 points.

The super-high-speed layout of the 24 Heures du Mans Racing Circuit was the setting for Round 3. ERM_Quinten won again, netting 457 points and tightening his grip on first place overall.

Round 4 took place at Sardegna - Road Track - A, and saw both ERM_Quinten and his closest rival PRiMA_Kylian19 both score 438 points. PRiMA_Kylian19 therefore looked in a good position to overhaul ERM_Quinten's lead as we headed into the last races of the season.

Round 5 took place on the Alsace - Test Course, a track with a tricky layout and many elevation changes. The race was won by TDG_MARKUS, who had also won the first race of the Season. It proved to be much less of a success story for PRiMA_Kylian19, however, who failed to add any points to his total ahead of the final race of the Season.

The last race took place on the Watkins Glen Long Course, a track that was added in a recent update. In a race between drivers who had very little experience of the track, PRiMA_Kylian19 came out on top, scoring 451 points. Unfortunately for him, however, this was not enough to move him to the top of the leaderboard, and he finished in second place overall.

In a Season that proved challenging for many veterans and newcomers alike, ERM_Quinten displayed great consistency to keep scoring throughout the rounds and claim the title.
