The final round of the Nations Cup Pre-Season took place on the Nürburgring GP track as a one-make race in the Porsche Cayman Clubsport. CLS63AMG-sc (Japan), who marked the fastest lap time in qualifying, started from the pole position, and quickly formed a large gap behind him.

Meanwhile, the battle for 2nd place was an extremely close dogfight between two Japanese drivers, y_nuno2702 and kuro96GT.

On lap 6, at the halfway point of the 11 lap race, CLS63AMG-sc came into the pit to change tyres and refuel. kuro96GT also entered the pit on the following lap.

However, derolin30 (Japan) in 5th place decided to forgo a pit stop, choosing to continue with no tyre change and no refuel. The three cars crossed paths in the 1st corner of lap 8, and a sprint race was on with just 3 laps to go.

But derolin30 was clearly at the limit of his fuel and tyres. He was passed by both CLS63AMG_sc and kuro96GT, and continued to fall behind.

While CLS63AMG-sc increased his gap from the 2nd place, the battle between kuro96GT and y_nuno2702 for that position continued to escalate: on the exit from the Dunlop curve on lap 10, kuro96GT slid just slightly, and y_nuno2702 was right there to make the move. y_nuno2702got ahead momentarily but it didn’t last long. kuro96GT got on the inside at the chicane and quickly retook 2nd place.

CLS63AMG-sc (Japan) showed incredible skill in getting ahead of the others, even though this was a one-make race with everyone on the same level playing field. He became the very well-deserved champion of the Nations Cup Pre-Season.
