Audi Introduces Two New 'Vision Gran Turismo', the First Vision Gran Turismo to Drive a Real World Race Track
On 9th April, Audi hosted an event at the Audi Driving Experience Center located just outside Ingolstadt, revealing their two 'Vision Gran Turismo' with different power-trains. At the same time, ‘Gran Turismo Sport’ received an update that made the cars available to all our players.

The 'Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo' is a model that brings to life the interpretation of a perfect ‘Gran Turismo’ by Audi. Its appearance is a sharp sports car wrapped in Audi’s latest design principles, but the car also pays homage to the famed Audi 90 IMSA GTO that raced the 1989 North American IMSA series.
Answering to the call for a variety of power-trains in recent years, there will be 2 versions of this car: the car with the blacked-out front grille is the 'Audi Vision Gran Turismo', a hybrid version combining a 3.4L V6 turbo engine to power the rear wheels and a motor/generator unit in front. The total system power is a whopping 950 kW (1292 ps).

The other version is the 'Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo', a pure EV model. This version can be recognised by its white front grille. With a single 200 kW motor in front and two for the rear, the total system output is 600 kW (815 ps).

Another ground breaking feature of this car is that it is the first Vision Gran Turismo able to really drive on a real world race track: the prototype revealed at the event will perform demo runs at the Formula E Rome GP being held on 13-14 April, as well as at other famous events such as the Nürburgring 24-Hour race and the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Audi will show off its sleek exterior and high performance at these events.
Kazunori Yamauchi first visited Audi with the concept of Vision Gran Turismo back in February 2013. Audi agreed wholeheartedly to participate in the project and took 5 years to carefully develop a full-fledged race car. The 'Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo' is a major milestone and accomplishment in the history of Vision Gran Turismo.
