Season 2 of the 'Gran Turismo World Series' 2022 Nations Cup got underway on the 12th of August.

The first round took place at the Autodrome Lago Maggiore, and was won by Australia's Dstinct_Twitchy, who scored 346 points.

The second round was won by another Australian, Dstinct_Andrew, who earned 355 points in the process.

Round 3, which took place on the super-fast Spa-Francorchamps circuit, was won by veteran New Zealander sidawg2.

Round 4 is so often the turning point of a Season, and this time around the victory went to the well known Australian driver emreeree.

At the halfway point of the Season, therefore, no one had managed to score enough points to really pull away from their rivals. But then, in Round 5, Dstinct_Andrew scored 354 points and started to take control of the leaderboard.

Australia's MINT_Matt scored 355 points in Round 6, but his sluggish performances earlier in the Season meant that this wasn't enough for him to break into the top three.

Dstinct_Twitchy, who had been eyeing a challenge for the top spot, scored 359 points in Round 7, only for first-placed rival Dstinct_Andrew to score 344—enough to prevent himself from being overtaken.

The final race of Season 2 took place on Trial Mountain. It was Dstinct_Twitchy's last chance to stage a comeback, but his performance in the race was disappointing, and he wasn't able to add any points to his total.

In the end, Dstinct_Andrew took advantage of his rivals' inability to make a decisive move, and scored consistently enough to ensure first place overall and a second consecutive title. Indeed, it was a good day for Aussies all round, as drivers from the country made up the entire top three.
