1Online Series

These races will make up the core of the championships. Anyone can participate in the Online Series from within the 'Sport' mode of GT Sport.

Nations Cup Online Series
The Nations Cup Online Series will be held as a 4-month-long competition from April to August.
The Series will be divided into 3 Stages, each made up of 10 Rounds (where 1 Round includes a Qualifying and a Final Race) for a total of 30 Rounds.
By participating in an online race, competitors will be awarded with points based on their race performance. These points will determine competitors' positions in the rankings, which will be updated at the end of every Round.
At the end of each stage, Star Player Selection (see below) will be carried out based on the points rankings.

The overall ranking is based on an effective points system: at the end of each Stage, the final score will be tallied from the best 1/4 Rounds out of the total for that Stage (with half numbers rounded up).

For example:

- After 10 rounds (10/4=2.5, rounded up) the best 3 Rounds will be tallied for the final score.

- After 30 Rounds at the end of the 2020 Series, the competitors' best 8 Rounds will be tallied for the final score.

Global Manufacturer Ranking

In the Manufacturer Series, a 'Global Manufacturer Ranking' will be created as described below.

1) A 'Manufacturer Ranking' will be created for each Region:
At the end of each Round, the position of a manufacturer in the 'Manufacturer Ranking' will be determined by the points acquired by its affiliated top driver (the driver who holds the highest score for that manufacturer in that Round).
At the end of each Round, 'Manufacturer Ranking Points' will be assigned to each of the 25 manufacturers based on their position in the above-mentioned 'Manufacturer Ranking', as follows:
'Manufacturer Ranking Points' Distribution Table
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th 10th 11th 12th 13th 14th 15th
40 pts 36 pts 33 pts 30 pts 27 pts 24 pts 22 pts 20 pts 18 pts 16 pts 15 pts 14 pts 13 pts 12 pts 11 pts
16th 17th 18th 19th 20th 21st 22nd 23rd 24th 25th
10 pts 9 pts 8 pts 7 pts 6 pts 5 pts 4 pts 3 pts 2 pts 1 pt
If two or more of the top ranking drivers from different manufacturers are tied on individual points, then the Manufacturer Ranking Points assigned to their respective manufacturers will be divided and assigned equally.

For example: Player A (Toyota) and Player B (Mercedes-Benz) both have an individual score of 230 points. If both manufacturers are tied for 3rd in their Region, the points awarded for 3rd and 4th place will be added together with each team receiving half of the total (33+30=63/2=31.5 pts.)
2) The 'Global Manufacturer Ranking' will be created:
The points from the three (3) Regions with the highest Manufacturer Rankings Points for each manufacturer will be tallied to determine their 'Global Manufacturer Ranking'.
If two or more manufacturers have an equal number of points in the 'Global Manufacturer Ranking', the selection will be determined following these criteria:
a) the manufacturer with the highest Manufacturer Ranking Points across all five Regions; and
b) if still tied, the manufacturer with the highest Manufacturer Ranking Points across all five Regions and all Rounds; and
c) if still tied, then the manufacturer with the highest number of affiliated contracts registered at the end of the relevant Stage.
(The Global Manufacturer Ranking is calculated using the points from all Rounds.)

Manufacturer Series

Selection for the Manufacturer Series World Final will be decided as below.

Manufacturer Selection Process

A total of 12 teams will proceed to the World Finals, consisting of Official Partner Manufacturers for the 2020 Series and the top ranked manufacturers according to the 'Global Manufacturer Ranking' calculated at the end of the 2020 Series.

Official Partner Manufacturers

The following is a list of Official Partners for the 2020 Series.

Toyota
Mazda

(Other Official Partners may be added during the Series.)

Manufacturer Representative Selection Process

The representative drivers for each of the 12 Manufacturers will be selected following these criteria:

a) the driver with the highest number of Manufacturer Points from each of the 3 Regions, and
b) if tied, the highest ranked driver in each of the 3 Regions.
(Unlike the Nations Cup, the number of World Tour victories does not count for the Manufacturer Series.)

If two or more Regions have an equal number of points after all Rounds, then the selection will be determined in the following order:
a) The region with the highest total number of Manufacturer Ranking Points; and
b) if still tied, the Region with the highest number of Manufacturer Ranking Points in a single Round during the Series; and
c) if still tied, then the Region with the driver who has obtained the highest number of individual points.
If a driver withdraws from the event, then the replacement will be determined in the following order:
a) The driver with the highest number of Manufacturer Ranking Points from the next highest ranked Region (4th ranked, then 5th); and
b) if still tied, then the driver with the next highest score from the same Region.
For example: if the Manufacturer Rankings for Toyota are Asia (1st), EMEA (2nd), North America (3rd), Oceania (4th), and Central & South America (5th), then the top drivers from Asia, EMEA, and North America would be selected first. If a driver from North America were to withdraw, then the top player from Oceania would be called up as the replacement driver.
