Players who lost out in the time trial have another chance to come back into the Semi-Finals by battling in a double elimination race (Consolation Round). Only players who rank in the top 7 places of this round will head through.

The round was fought with players using cars from 'Group 3', a category that I am sure will become a big topic of discussion with 'Gran Turismo Sport' going forward.

The 'Group 3' category in 'Gran Turismo Sport' uses cars from the 24 hour Nürburgring Ring race along with the world popular FIA GT3 vehicles and various original dream cars which have been modified by Gran Turismo based on sports cars from all over the world.

The course chosen for the elimination round is an original new course made for 'Gran Turismo Sport', the 'Northern Isle Speedway'.

Fábio Assunção (UK) driving the BMW Z4 GT3 led the race through from the start while Tommy van der Donckt (Belgium) and Thomas Kiefer (Germany) won the fight for 2nd and 3rd place.
