- Nik_Makozi is Made to Sweat, But Keeps the Lead After Stage 3!
- 2019 Series Nations Cup - Stage 3 (Oceania)
- 29/07/2019
The third stage of the Nations Cup got underway on June 9th. While the top drivers in other regions seemed to struggle to accumulate points during this stage, Australia's Nik_Makozi kept his tally ticking over: 2,377 points in Round 21, 2,417 points in Round 23, 2,454 points in Round 24, and 2,404 points in Round 27.
Nik_Makozi has seemed to be in unstoppable form, but then it suddenly all went wrong. On the final race of the stage, a Gr. 2 race on Mount Panorama, Nik_Makozi struggled terribly during qualifying and had to start from sixth place on the grid. Most drivers had opted for the GT-R, but Nik_Makozi had gone for the RC F, and this may have been the cause of his troubles. He was able to improve his position slightly during the race itself, but still missed out on the podium, finishing in fourth place.
Australia's Adam_2167 was able to take advantage of Nik_Makozi's misfortune to score 2,783 points and close the gap on the leader.
At the end of the stage, Nik_Makozi retained first place overall, but his poor performance in the last race meant that he'd had to sweat for it. Perhaps a new pretender is set to challenge for the throne? We shall have to wait and see...
