Performance Points and BoP

Getting More out of the Game

Performance Points (PP)

Performance Points (PP) are a numerical representation of a car's overall performance level. In short, the higher the PP, the higher the performance. Some World Circuits events and Sport mode races put restrictions on PP as a part of their race regulations.

As PP is a simulated performance rating, it is subject to change with game updates that adjust the performance rating system.

In the event that the game is unable to simulate a normal racing experience, an accurate performance rating may not be possible when it comes to PP calculation. In such a case, an exclamation mark ("!") will display beside the PP value, indicating that it has not been properly calculated.

A car for which the PP has not been properly calculated cannot compete in races with PP limits. To calculate the correct value, make adjustments in "Car Settings" and press the △ button to re-calculate the PP. Conversely, you can purchase a part that affects PP at the Tuning Shop to calculate a correct value.

BoP (Balance of Performance)

BoP (Balance of Performance) allows you to ensure a more level playing field when it comes to the cars that take part in races. When BoP is applied, the weight and power of participating cars are automatically regulated to make their performance relatively equal. When activated, the weight and power for Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, Group 4 and Group B category cars will be adjusted. If tuning parts have been installed, the car will be returned to its stock state. Depending on track attributes, three types of BoP may be applied, each individually adjusted for "high-speed", "medium-speed" and "slow-speed" tracks.

Cars not belonging to the Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, Group 4 or Group B categories will be restored to their default tuned state, to allow for a one make race under equal conditions.
