Custom Race
World Circuit
Choose your preferred conditions and enjoy racing against AI opponents. After selecting the track layout, the following settings can be adjusted. Adjust these settings and select "Go Race" to start the race.
Select "Load Settings" or "Save Settings" at the bottom left of the screen to load or save settings with a name of your choice.
Race Settings
Race Type
Select either "Lap" or "Endurance."
No. of Laps
Select the number of laps in the race. (Only applicable if the Race Type is "Lap.")
Time Limit
Select the duration of the race. (Only applicable if the Race Type is "Endurance.")
No. of Cars
Select the number of cars in the race.
Starting Grid
Select the player's starting position.
Start Type
Select from either a "Grid Start" or a "Rolling Start." With "Grid Start," the race begins from a standing start. If using "Rolling Start," cars will begin the race in motion.
Rolling Start Interval
Set the gap interval between each car.
Boost
Set the strength of the boost function, which allows for a closer contest by increasing the speed of cars trailing behind.
Slipstream Strength
Set the strength of the slipstream effect, which allows cars to increase their speed by tailing another car, thereby reducing their air resistance. Select "Strong" for a strong slipstream effect, "Weak" for a weak slipstream effect, or "Real" for an even weaker effect.
Mechanical Damage
Set the extent to which collisions will cause damage to cars. If a car suffers mechanical damage, it may not be able to drive in a straight line, and its engine may not work properly. If this is set to "None," then no mechanical damage will take place. If set to "Light," then mechanical damage will automatically repair itself after a while. If set to "Heavy," then cars will be damaged in the same way as on the "Light" setting, but they will not be repaired until they enter the pit lane.
Tire Wear
Set the speed at which tires will deteriorate. The further right you move the slider, the more quickly tires will deteriorate. If you move the slider to the "off" position at the far left, tires will not deteriorate.
Fuel Depletion
Set the speed at which fuel is consumed. The further right you move the slider, the more quickly fuel will be consumed. If you move the slider to the "off" position at the far left, no fuel will be consumed.
Grip Reduction Off Track
Set the extent to which driving off the track, for example on run-off areas, affects tires' grip. If this is set to "Low," then grip will only be slightly reduced. If this is set to "Real," then grip will be dramatically reduced, and will continue to be reduced for a while after you return to the track.
Nitro/Overtaking System Usage Time Multiplier
Set the amount of time during which the overtaking system can be used.
Time/Weather Settings
How to Select Weather Conditions
You can choose from either "Preset Weather" or "Custom Weather."
Preset Weather
Select from a number of predetermined weather options.
Timeframe
Select the time during which the race will take place.
Variable Time Speed Ratio
Select how quickly the sky changes.
Surface Water at Start
Select how much water is on the surface of the track at the start of the race.
Custom Weather
This option becomes available if you select "Custom Weather" from "How to Select Weather Conditions." Weather at the start and end of the race can be randomized, or freely chosen.
Opponent Settings
Opponent Selection
Choose how rival cars are selected for the race.
Car Class
Select the class of your opponents' cars. Only applicable when "Opponent Selection" is set to "Select by Car Class."
Select from Garage
Change cars, grid positions and driver names. Only applicable when "Opponent Selection" is set to "Select from Garage."
Opponent Difficulty
Set the speed of your rival cars. Choose from beginner, intermediate or professional. The more difficult your opponents, the more prize money you will earn.
Penalty Settings
Shortcut Penalty
Set the level of penalty enforcement for when a driver takes a shortcut. Choose "None" to apply no penalty, "Weak" to apply a minor penalty, or "Strong" to apply a major penalty.
Wall Collision Penalty
Select the penalty incurred when a car collides with a trackside wall. Choose "None" to apply no penalty, and "Time Penalty (Weak)" or "Time Penalty (Strong)" to apply minor or major penalties respectively.
Correct Vehicle Course After Wall Collision
Choose whether or not to use a feature which corrects the direction in which a car is facing after incidents such as collisions with trackside walls.
Car Collision Penalty
Choose whether a penalty is applied for colliding with another car.
Pit Lane Line Cutting Penalty
Choose whether a penalty is applied for cutting across the white line when entering the pit. Select "None" and no penalty will be applied for crossing the line. Select "On" to apply a penalty for crossing the line.
Ghosting During Race
This sets the level at which cars are made transparent during a race to prevent collisions. Set this to "None" for no ghosting. Use "Weak" to ghost cars that cause hazards on the course by spinning, colliding into walls, and so on. The "Strong" setting will ghost the above hazardous cars, as well as cars that collide into others as a result of driving too fast.
Flag Rules
Choose whether or not to apply flag rules. If set to "On," the flag indications given by the marshal on the side of the track will be enforced. The conditions for applying flag rules will vary depending on the track and race category.
