The Making of the FIA GT Championship Trophy
The FIA-certified Gran Turismo Championships concluded its inaugural series at the end of 2018. The trophy awarded to the winners at the World Finals is a scaled-down version of "Unique Forms of Continuity in Space" by Italian sculptor Umberto Boccioni.
The process in creating this trophy was a long and arduous one, taking two years to complete. Now you can watch what went into making of this art piece in a video titled "The Making of the Trophy for the Gran Tursimo World Final," directed by Kazumasa Saegusa, the Director of the Tokyo University of the Arts Geidai Factory Lab. Beginning from the very first stage of traveling to the Tate Modern Museum in the U.K. to scan the original bronze sculpture, the video documents every step of this incredible process, complete with behind the scenes footage.
We hope you will enjoy watching the creation of our trophy that honors this iconic piece from the futurism movement.
