A new race machine for the 2019 Super Formula series was announced during "Motor Sports Fan Appreciation Day," held at Suzuka Circuit on Saturday, March 2. The new SF19, which boasts extraordinary performance on the track, will be available in Gran Turismo Sport after an update this spring.

For the 2019 season, Super Formula updated the old chassis, which had been around since 2014, to a brand new one called the SF19. In addition to an improvement in performance, major advancements have been made to driver safety. Developed by Dallara, which also designed the old chassis, the F19 boasts updated aerodynamics that improve performance during passing maneuvers.

In Gran Turismo Sport, you will be able to take full advantage of the amazing potential of the new Super Formula machine and the SF19 chassis.

Just like in real life, the cars will come equipped with either a Toyota or Honda engine. You can choose the one that you feel right for you. Also, the sounds of the two engines have been accurately recreated, and both come with the much awaited "boost" feature that allows a temporary power increase when you want to make a pass.*

A new series based on the Super Formula has now been added to GT League, where players race against AI opponents. So make sure you get a taste of what many consider race cars in their purest form.

A Super Formula section has also been added to Brand Central. In addition to the purchase of the cars themselves, you can look back on the history of the Super Formula and watch a variety of related videos.

The key words of Super Formula are "quick and light." And true to these words, the 2019 machine represents the next level in performance, and now you will be able to experience it in Gran Turismo Sport.
