Livery Editor Features

Livery Editor

Colors and decals applied to race cars and race team wear are called livery. In the Livery Editor you can change the colors of your cars, helmet and racing suit, and apply decals to them, allowing you to create your own unique livery.

To create a new livery design or a livery that uses your current style, select "Create Design". To edit a pre-existing livery, select "Open Design".
To return a piece of livery to its original state, select "Restore Original Livery".

Create Design
Create a new livery design or a livery that uses your current style.

Open Design
Edit a pre-existing livery. After selecting "Open Design", pre-existing livery data will be displayed. Please select the livery that you want to edit. You can either select "Apply Design" or "Edit Design".

Restore Original Livery
Restore the design your car had when you first obtained it.

■Livery Editor

We'll use a Car Livery here as an example. Set the car you want to edit as your current car and then select "Create Design" under Livery Editor. The menu screen will then be displayed. From the menu screen you can choose what aspect of the car you want to edit.

The Menu screen has the following options:

Preview
A full screen preview of your alterations. Use the right stick to rotate the car freely, with L2 and R2 to control zoom. Use the left stick while holding down R1 to move the camera. Press the △ button to change the background.

Paint
Paint the car's body and wheels. Please refer to the "Livery Editor" -> "Paint" section of this manual for more details.

Decals
Apply decals to the car's body. Please refer to the "Livery Editor" -> "Applying Decals" section of this manual for more details.

Race Options
Attach items for racing cars such as a "Number", "Windshield Banner", "Driver Name", "Light Cover" and "Tire Stickers". Depending on the type of car model some items may not be attached.

Editor Options
Adjust the exposure, camera rotation (horizontal/vertical), default projection method for decals, and the default background.

Save
Save current livery design.

Close
Exit from editing this livery.

■Editing Helmets and Racing Suits

Helmets and racing suit decals can be edited in the same manner as car decals. Select "Driving Gear" from the "GT Auto" menu.

After you have selected "Decals" from the Helmet Livery Editor menu and proceeded to the editing screen, the following icons will appear on the left of the screen:

Shell
Apply a decal to the entire helmet.

Visor
Apply a decal to the upper edge of the visor.

Decal Texture
Select a decal texture.

Visor Color
Select a visor color.

Visor Sticker
Select a sticker from a list of presets to the upper edge of the visor.

Flag
Choose whether or not to display your regional/national flag (and car number) on the sides of your helmet and the belt of your racing suit. (The flag displayed will be automatically determined based on the country/region in which you are signed into the game.)

Head Logo
Choose whether or not to display a logo on the top of your helmet.

When editing helmet decals, the following options will appear on the Projection Method Selection Screen: "Align with Surface", "Align with Camera" and "Sphere". The spherical projection method is recommended if your design involves a manufacturer's logo on the helmet shell.
Please note that when the spherical projection method is selected, decals cannot be projected onto the uppermost of the three ventilation ducts on the top of the helmet.
