The Race Screen

Races

Information such as the following will be displayed on the screen during races. (*The image shows all the information that can be shown in Normal view. The race screen will look different during an actual race.) The details shown will vary depending on the current view and the type of race. If you want to cancel the race, press the options button on the controller to display the Pause Menu, then select "Exit."

1Current Position/Number of Cars
Displays the total number of cars in the race and the position of your car.

2Current Laps/Total Laps/Final Lap
Displays the total number of laps and the lap your car is currently on. Also displays a notice during the final lap.

3Rear-view Mirror
Shows what's happening behind you.

4Track Map
Displays a map of the track and the positions of each car.

5Lap Times
Displays your times for each lap.

6Final Lap
Displays when you have entered the final lap.

7Current Lap Time/Best Times per Sector
Displays your current lap time. The display will switch whenever you set a new best time for each sector of the track.

8Position Indicator
Displays the two drivers in front of you, the two drivers behind you, and the time differences between their cars and your car. This will also display your pit stop status while you are taking a pit stop.

9Fastest Lap Notification
Notifies you when you break a fastest lap record during a race.

10Total Time
Displays the total time elapsed since the start of the race.

11Braking Suggestion
Displays when it is necessary to brake. For example, just before a corner, red text will blink and the meter panel will turn red, telling you to brake.

12Time Difference with Best Lap
During a time trial, this gives a real-time display of the time difference between your best lap for the session (e.g. a single race, or the time from starting to finishing a time trial) and your current time. If your time is better, it'll be displayed in blue with a minus sign; if it isn't, it'll be displayed in red with a plus sign.

13Steering Angle/Gear Change Indicator
The red dot moves left and right to indicate how much you're steering in that direction. The shift indicator is shown below. This will light up when the engine revolution gets close to the red zone, letting you know when it's time to shift gears.

14Car Speed/Gear/Blindside Indicator
Displays the car speed and gear number of the transmission. The red semi-circles on either side are the blindside indicators. These will light up to indicate how close other cars are to the left and right sides of your car.

15Speedometer/Fuel Meter/Odometer/Handbrake Indicator
The fuel meter is displayed for races with fuel consumption activated. The odometer shows how far you've driven in each car. The handbrake indicator lights up when the handbrake is in use.

16Brake Pressure
Pressure when braking is shown as a white bar here. The amount of pressure reduced by the effect of ABS is displayed in red.

17Multi-Function Display (MFD)
The MFD lets you adjust settings like traction control and displays useful information while you're driving. Please refer to the "Races" > "The Multi-Function Display" section of this manual for more details.

18Tachometer/Boost Gauge/Light Indicator
The tachometer shows the number of engine revolutions. The light indicator lights up when the car's lights are on. The boost gauge displays the boost pressure for turbo or superchargers.

19Throttle
Displays the throttle as a white bar. If this is stabilized by traction control, the degree of this effect will be shown in red.

20Equipped Tires (Initials)/Tire Temperature/Tire Health/Mechanical Damage
The initials for the type of equipped tires (e.g. "RH" for Racing: Hard and "SS" for Sport: Soft) will be shown at the front and back of the car icon. As the tires get hotter, the outside frame for the four tires will get redder. As the tires wear down, the icons for them will change from white (healthy) to red (worn out). Please refer to the "Races" -> "Mechanical Damage" section of this manual for more details about mechanical damage.

21Surface Water Indicator
Displays how wet the surface of the track is. The longer the bar, the more wet the track is.

22Driving Assistance Indicators (From left to right: ABS/Auto-Drive: Brakes/Auto-Drive: Steering)
Driving assistance functions that are turned on will be displayed in white, while those that are turned off will be displayed in grey. Functions that are currently engaged will be displayed in red.

23Driving Assistance Indicators (From left to right: traction control/stability management/countersteering assistance)
Driving assistance functions that are turned on will be displayed in white, while those that are turned off will be displayed in grey. Functions that are currently engaged will be displayed in red.

24Nitro Indicator/Overtaking Indicator
Only displayed in cars with a Nitro or Overtaking system.* The indicator flashes red when engaged. The semi-circle at the top of the indicator represents the amount of time remaining.

25Overtaken Car Info
Displays information about cars overtaken during a race.

*This includes Super Formula F19 vehicles, and cars equipped with KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) and DRS (Drag Reduction System).
